And so the summer comes to a close and my European gigs are almost finished…and what a way to leave the summer behind me. Theres been cars, theres been awards, theres been sneaky raving in a London Gallery, theres been Ibiza..theres been a lot of Ibiza, theres been closings and takeovers. I still feel incredibly lucky to live the life I do and to still be involved and championing the music that I love.

RESISTANCE,IBIZA

September saw me play my last 2 Ibiza gigs for Resistance.
3rd September was an absolutely killer line up with

PURE CARL COX, PRAGUE

It was truly amazing to be back in Prague for the second time with another Pure Carl Cox show, we even bumped into my good friend Archie Hamilton at the airport. Prague is a really fantastic city and I was definitely feeling the Pure Rave love from start to finish. Prague I will be back very soon!

SAATCHI GALLERY, LONDON

Thursday 12th September saw me go B2B with Norman Cook @The Saatchi Gallery London to celebrate the closing of the #SweetHarmony #Rave exhibition in London. Kicking off with a Q&A with Alon Shulman before we hit the decks and playing to a crowd of just 600 lucky ravers this gig took me back to the start of my career playing small gigs at night whilst working as a scaffolder in the day.

GOODWOOD REVIVAL, CHICHESTER

September also saw me pull out the Techno Tweeds for my visit to The Goodwood Revival this year. Massive shout out to Wilvalor for tailoring me this amazing suit.
What an fantastic day it was, lots of racing, lots of cars, lots of big smiles for me!

DANCE OR DIE, IBIZA

It was back to Ibiza for another special closing on the 25th, to support
Nic Fanciulli’s Ibiza residency DANCE OR DIE
As always the energy was another level.

We even had a little backstage chat with BBC Radio 1 before sharing the decks to put this great party to bed for the winter.

Hitsville Motown

I was lucky enough to go and see the premiere of Hitsville Motown movie this month…. What a film!
All about the greatest record label on earth, and what a story it is. Amazing from start to finish. It really takes me back to how I started listening to records in the early sixties and they still hold up today. Plus I got to get my dapper on again with another sharp suit!

The end of the month saw my label, Awesome Soundwave, take over the Coxy Instagram for the day. We really wanted to share with you some of the exciting tracks and events that we have coming up over the next few months, so a takeover seemed the best way to spread some ASW love! Alongside my partner Christopher Coe, the label is growing from strength to strength, with sign-ups from the incredibly talented Saytek, Mat Playford, Hannes Bieger and Julien Chaptal, and lots of slammin’ remixes from Christopher and, of course, me. For me it never stops being an honour to win an award, I never expect it and it always reminds me that without the fans and the people who come to hear my music I wouldn’t be where I am today. At the end of the day it’s the vibe that brings us together and I’m just gonna keep grooving, moving and moving to the grooving! And I’m gonna keep it going for as long as I can!

%100 MUSIC, ISTANBUL, TURKEY

OH YES! OH YES! Turkey seriously knows how to rock it! My last gig of September and what a way to say good bye to the summer!

I had the great pleasure of hanging out with the two people behind the incredible Funktion1 sound system earlier this month. Tony and Ann Andrews have taken the audio club experience to new levels over the last few years. Not only is it one of my favourite systems to play on Tonys knowledge of sound technology is unsurpassed.

AWESOME SOUNDWAVE

We’ve been counting down until our Awesome Soundwave LIVE Show at ADE on Oct 17 with Awakenings and a stellar line-up of artists, many LIVE artists and artists we’ve released on the label (or will in the new year)! And wow, it was a HUGE one, even I did a hybrid DJ & Live set, thanks so much to everyone who came down and raved with us! Stay tuned for more videos and moments from the night on our Facebook and Instagram…

On Oct 5th, I also invited several of these artists to Fabrik Madrid for one massive night. Despite his gear not turning up, Hannes Bieger still played a stormer of a LIVE set, thanks to Mat Playford and Christopher Coe stepping in to lend him some gear. This is what the Awesome Soundwave family is all about!

Our latest release from Christopher Coe & The Upstarters, Pick Up The Phone EP, has been going well so far – you may have heard it already on our ADE event video or me playing it at Babylon Festival! Chris teamed up with a group of artists, who each live with an intellectual disability. Together, they created the sounds – in and out of the studio – and with Chris finishing the track, bringing it all together. It really is a special project, and one I’m proud that we as a label are able to do. To showcase that techno really is for everyone!

Next up we’ll be releasing ‘The Way’ from Julien Chaptal this month to close out a huge year for Awesome Soundwave and for live artists. This kicks off as an exclusive vinyl release, because Julien’s music works so well on this format, and we still do love vinyl… you can pre-order it here we’re only pressing up a limited amount of copies so get in fast as this will sell out… with a digital release coming out in November.
